I like the speed and immediacy of painting; it is a nice balance to the slow predictable way of the loom. I have more freedom with color choices and composition and if I need to change something, it’s a lot easier than unweaving a tapestry. Painting allows me to process experience in a physical way. It makes me focus on the accuracy of my observations and interpretation of the experience so that I can pass it along to the viewer.
